A Powerful Production That Gives Teens a Voice

The YMCA of South Florida’s Teen Broadway Program is bringing something truly special to the stage this month—“Where Is Happily Ever After? The Reality Within.” This must-see production, featuring a talented and diverse cast of young performers, will take place on February 15th & 16th at the Victory Black Box Theatre inside the L.A. Lee YMCA/Mizell Community Center in Fort Lauderdale.

More than just a play, this performance is a raw and heartfelt portrayal of real struggles that today’s youth face—anxiety, social pressures, family obligations, financial hardships, disabilities, self-image challenges, and school violence. Told through the powerful voices of young actors, ages 5 to 17, this production sheds light on the obstacles many kids and teens navigate daily.

But this isn’t just a story about struggle—it’s about resilience, hope, and the transformative power of the arts.

Why This Production Matters

In a world where young people are constantly bombarded with expectations and pressures, the arts provide an essential space for self-expression and healing. The YMCA’s Teen Broadway Program goes beyond acting—it gives youth the opportunity to be involved in every aspect of the production, including writing, directing, producing, and set design.

This program fosters:
Creativity & Self-Expression – Giving young people an outlet to share their stories.
Confidence & Public Speaking Skills – Preparing them for future success.
Community & Teamwork – Teaching valuable collaboration and problem-solving skills.
Representation & Empowerment – Showing that their voices and experiences matter.

For many of these young artists, “Where Is Happily Ever After?” is more than just a performance—it’s a chance to be heard, understood, and empowered.
